I have had the privilege and pleasure of knowing and working with Danny Alford of over 15 years. While serving as the director of the band at Victory Christian Ministries International, I distinctly remember the first time Danny came to our practice with his horn. I sat beside him and listened to him warm up, and thought, "OK, he might work". I was a bit skeptical because many musicians had come through claiming a level of skill they did not posess.
Danny immediately provide his worth. It wasn't long before I was regularly calling on him for impromptu solos during praise and worship services. Danny never - literally never - disappointed. This is because Danny invests in his techincal skill, but more importantly, he does the soul work necessary to play from such an honest, broken place. He is first and foremost a man of God who worships God, both on and off his horn.
I have never met anyone who was not moved by Danny's ministry. When you hear him, you will understand why. I'm grateful to call hi a colleague and friend.

It is my great pleasure to write about a great musician, Mr. Danny Alford, whom I have known for over 10 years. About 8 years ago I hosted a fundraising concert to benefit the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) and I asked Mr. Danny Alford to play his saxophone at that event. Mr. Aflord generously and without any hesitation accepted my invitation and masterfully played his music with such passion that the whole room became full of joy and admiration for his music. He played his saxophone so beautifully that he immediately became the star of our show. Mr. Alford's incredible talent and love for his music combined with his easy-going attitude and humble personality became the talk of our event and everyone wanted to learn more about him. He truly has a lot of love and passion for his music and is the kind of musician that everyone comes to admire.
